Dear Geek Gang:

I'm writing with some bittersweet news. I am leaving my job at the Kennett Library, and as of December 5, I will be working in publishing for Quirk Books (publisher of Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, the Fangirl's Guide to the Galaxy, and many other awesome books). Unless you come into the library between now and Friday the 2nd, I probably won't get to see you before I leave, and so I wanted to make sure I told you guys a few things.

First: GEEK GANG IS NOT DEAD.  My former programming assistant, Alex, has been promoted into my old job, and he is going to keep Geek Gang running (or else I will come back and destroy him!). Alex and I worked at the same comic shop together, and he is really knowledgable about comics and comics history. He also is the person who introduced me to Brooke Allen, and he knows a ton of people in the industry, just like I do. He's going to keep Geek Gang running the exact same way, and we even picked out and ordered the next three books together (they are good ones!).  I know it'll be a change, but I really encourage you all to give Alex a chance and come to Geek Gang as planned on December 14. He is one of my very favorite people in the world and I think you'll like him, too.

Second: I am not lying or exaggerating when I say that running Geek Gang and getting to know you all has been the highlight of my career so far. I've enjoyed our time together so much. You've kept me passionate about my own interaction with comics, and inspired me to make sure that anything I write would meet your standards. You're all awesome, smart, capable people and I have full faith that each of you will be running the world someday in your own way. I really hope that I see a few of you making art and comics. Maybe we'll even run into each other in the publishing world. The point is: you are great!

If you ever want to reach out to me with a comics question, to show me your work, or for anything else, my email is ivynoelle@gmail.com.

Best of luck to all of you in everything that you do, and I hope we cross paths again!

Best,

Ivy
